This morning, Andrea Mitchell made a breathtakingly oblivious point about how it would be better for Nancy Pelosi to not travel to Afghanistan so she could … stay here and “work on opening the government”.
WTF? Whatever anyone may think of her, “politically illiterate” is not a term that theoretically would apply to this supposedly “seasoned” political reporter.
From Day One of Nancy Pelosi’s speakership, she has focussed nonstop on getting our government back open. FFS, the first bill passed in the House this year did just that. As have several other bills. It’s like Democrats — oh, I don’t know — have a strategy or something to pass bills that will open the government, every single day they’ve been there.
Mitchell, like #WheresMitch and the rest of the Senate GOP, has oh so conveniently forgotten that Sh**tface McTurtle could end this shutdown today. All it would take would be for him to actually do his constitutional duty and pass the same frigging bill he championed last month to keep the government open. A bill that passed — wait for it — unanimously in the Senate.
Last time I looked, 100 votes are more than enough to clear a 67-vote threshold to override a presidential veto. But Traitorous Mitch, every bit as much in thrall to Putin as Traitor McTreaonWeasel is, has decided to treat the Orange Anus as if he’s king.
McConnell — and a willfully ignorant, blissfully supine media — have forgotten that the founding fathers did not anoint the President of the United States to be … His Royal Highness, King of the United States. They didn’t set up our democracy to make the president Il Duce, Der Fuhrer, or Emperor Palpatine.
Maybe we should start asking the media why they feel … so strongly … that McConnell can completely abdicate his constitutional responsibility to pass bills, regardless of whether Temper Tantrum Toddler-in-Chief will sign them or not?
So why does the media keep letting Traitorous Mitch treat *dump45 as if he’s king? It’s well past time for them to stop assuming *dirtbag45 is His Royal Lowness, and put their laser focus where it belongs — on the co-equal branch of government known as the Senate.
So, Andrea, who made Russian Agent Drumpf king? And why do you keep letting him? Why are you and other “journalists” so very, very insistent that Sh**tface McTurtle skulk off into the darkness and keep treating him as such?
A Republican shutdown that was started by a Republican House, a Republican Senate and a Republican President, could end today if just one of them — the Republican Senate — would do its job and just … pass the bill that it passed just last month. Oh, but that would mean that you’d have to do your job and actually ... do some journalism.
