Uh, OK. She. Gets. Me. And My Vote. That was easy.
Ya see. I wrote to my senator, Kamala Harris about 6 months ago after she released some statements about her plan for helping families via tax cuts. I told her that was great but to not forget about me. Ya see, I’m a single urban professional. With the housing crisis, it’s rough out there for folks like me, but most politicians prefer to talk about families during elections, for obvious reasons.
Senator Harris gets it. She gets where we’re at. So today I read this about her opening bid:
The plan would give tax credits to renters who make less than $100,000 a year but spend more than 30 percent of their income on rent (including utilities) — a widely used gauge of housing affordability…
Harris’s plan would benefit at least 13 million Americans and is similar to a plan written by the Terner Center for Housing Innovation at the University of California at Berkeley, estimated to cost $76 billion

$76 Billion is easily doable and would mean the world to an IMO under-represented group who if they’re like me, vote like a champ.
Kamala Harris, you had me at renter’s tax credit.
