House Speaker Nancy Pelosi minced no words in her Thursday morning press conference about the status of border security negotiations in Congress. "There's not going to be any wall money in the legislation,” she told reporters.
“The President just doesn’t seem to have the attention span or the desire to hear what the intelligence community has been telling him,” she said. And what the intelligence community has been telling him is that there is no border emergency.
"I take pride in the ability of the Appropriations members to reach a consensus left to their own devices without any other interference,” she said, reiterating the point that Trump is not in charge of Congress. “I was pleased with yesterday,” she said of the first conference committee meeting. “I thought everybody was of good intentions.”
How refreshing is it to have a real leader standing up to Trump? Mitch McConnell should take lessons.
