It looks like Trump’s failure to respond to Congress’s request for a Intelligence Report on the Khashoggi killing was the last straw, at least for the House of Representatives.
The House has taken up, is now debating and will soon vote on a Resolution to withdraw US support of Saudi Arabia’s War (Genocide) in Yemen. They are currently debating the Rule on the Resolution on C-Span.
If you remember last December the Senate passed just such a resolution by over 60 votes, with over 11 Republican Senators defying Trump and voting for the Bill. But, since Ryan and the Trump Supporters in the Republican controlled House didn’t want to offend Trump and his other buddy, Khashoggi Killer MBS, they simply refused to take up the Resolution and it died.
Now that Trump has thumbed his nose at Congress by refusing to officially provide an Intelligence Report that would surely finger MBS for the Khashoggi murder, Pelosi and the House Dems. have had enough. They are once again bringing up the previously Senate passed Resolution to punish MBS by cutting US support to the Saudi War in Yemen. It should easily pass the House and likely even get some Republican support. Then pressure will need to be put on McConnell to bring it to the Senate Floor, and those same Republicans who supported this Resolution last year must be pressured into supporting it this year. What happens if/when its passed and put on Trump’s Desk? Who knows, but it will at least put Trump in a difficult political position of either doing the right thing and signing the Resolution, or vetoing it to support a murderer (MBS) and Genocide in Yemen.

UPDATE #1: Well the House just voted. The Resolution to stop US Military support for Saudi Arabia in Yemen, PASSED 248 “yes” to 177 “no” with 18 Republicans voting “yes” with 230 Democrats. Not the # of Republicans I was hoping for (55 will be needed for veto-proof majority), but better than nothing. Now on to the Senate!
