With a State of Emergency along the border most likely being declared, videos are worth more than a thousand words.

A middle aged white female US citizen, in my old Toyota Camry, I have driven along portions of the border, on both sides in California, Arizona, Texas and New Mexico and I have driven over 40,000 miles within Mexico and have gone to 27 of their 32 states, including all 3 coasts — Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and Pacific, as well as the Gulf of California, and as far south as the Guatemala and Belize borders. Mexico is an amazingly rich and diverse country. With a few exceptions I have found the people to be gracious, warm, welcoming and generous. I have actually experienced the offer to spend a night in a stranger’s home, because it was getting too dark to drive, in the early morning sharing a freshly roasted fish and tortillas on the beach with a homeless man, and of having a road worker offer to share his tortillas and dried shrimp with me when I stopped and asked for the name of the mountain I was looking at along the road.
I have personally found the fencing that extends as far as the eye can see in many places, oppressing and an embarrassment. I have also driven across points of entry in Tijuana/San Ysidro, Calexico/Mexicali, Yuma/San Luis Rio Colorado, Reyonosa/McAllen, Sonoyta/Lukeville (Arizonians quickest route to Puerto Penasco for the weekend). Without exception I can say that I have always been treated with the utmost courtesy and respect on the Mexican side of the border, despite my far from fluent Spanish. I cannot say the same for the American side.
Tonight, with Twitler’s threat of declaring a State of Emergency along the border, Chris Hayes’ “All In” has every segment of his show dedicated to the Mexican border, taking viewers, via video, along various portions of the border, to personally have a look at the terrain and the existing border barriers, including walls and fencing. He ends with an interview with Beto O’Rourke.
For those of you not fortunate enough to have joined me on my travels, these segments will give you a personal view of what the talk of The WALL is all about, and what its impact is on those on both sides of the border. It includes opinions by those who are both for or against the wall.
Sometimes it really helps to have a visual of what everyone is fighting about.
