The ongoing saga of Kim, our home, and our continued gratitude for friends and the Daily Kos community…
It's been a bit since I last posted, but progress has been made; the house is ready to be moved, the well drilled and the pumphouse installed, and the septic system ready to go!
And then, of course, the weather decided that it was done cooperating again, and closed in: rain, sleet, snow and the sort of freeze that makes even our friendly-neighbourhood backhoe (his name is George, and he looks like the one above) decide he doesn't want to play, and even if he could there's no way he could dig down deep enough to trench out a flower bed, let alone a leach field.
Gah.
Still, the forecast for next week looks good, so we're hoping to get some dry weather to get the last bits done. With a tiny bit of luck (I'm warning you, Fate, don't make our lives any harder!) We we can get things finished in the next 2 weeks.
Health news is the usual mixed bag; Kim's still exhausted, but with me able to shoulder more of the physical burdens now, she can rest more. The cancer is still not growing, so that's awesome news. On Friday we had our regular Big Monthly Update Review, and they're hopeful that there a signs of retreat from the rumors. Her system is starting to balance and her levels are coming up into the ranges they generally like to see, while her markers are dropping off to levels that make them happy indeed.
Our youngest boy celebrates his birthday on the 19th of this month, and were really hoping to have a housewarming/birthday party for him either then or the next weekend!
Busy busy time lies ahead, but I wanted to make sure you were all caught up and inform you of what you have all helped us to achieve! Hopefully I can begin to post more as the experts begin to take over and we can get moved in to the home that DKos built.
Thank you all so very much. We'd be lost without you.
Love always
Callum and Kim
