I am having a bit of trouble with water. More than a bit actually. A lot of trouble.
A brief list of my water woes:
~my roof leaked into one of my rooms for about 6 months
~my freezer is leaking into my frig
~my basement has a small leak in a certain spot if it rains in a certain direction
~the sunroof on my car leaks
~the drain pipe thing popped off my washer flooding an area of my basement
The details are below, but they are not really the point. I know that most people would set about fixing their water woe’s in an orderly and timely fashion. I am not most people though. I tried to figure out what message all the water was trying to send me.
I started searching for the symbolic message emotionalhealthcoaching.com/…
Have we become too unconscious of our feelings that we must see them reflected into nature?
- Is our compulsion to deny or numb our challenging feelings now forcing them into our conscious world?
- Are we being overpowered by our unconsciousness?
- Is our lack of awareness damaging the goods in our lives?
- Are we so disconnected from our emotions and so unwilling to feel them as they come that they must build up and flood us?
- Is nature trying to encourage us pay attention to our lives and the good in them? Should we offer our anger, our grief and our fears the grace, the time and the respect they deserve, so they are not forced to overcome us?
That was not helpful to me at all. It sounds like it will take years of therapy to figure out. I was looking for an answer like, “Wear more purple”, “Sleep with a certain stone under your pillow”, etc. No luck on easy answers so far. I may have to read Mr. Flood’s Party to really understand what’s going on.
~I did finally get my roof fixed. It took 4 visits from a handyman who was high priced but came well recommended. It took me 3 times to get him to go in the attic, which is where I was sure the problem was. He kept showing up in pretty nice clothes and didn’t seem to want to get dirty by going in the attic. (The problem was in the attic!)
~My refrigerator is 15 years old and a small European style frig. I thought I was closing the frig too hard which was bouncing the freezer open. Well, even if I am, the freezer should not come open. I just called my warranty company about this. They will cover all but the $60 deductible and I’m betting I get a new frig out of the deal. I want another little one too. How much space do I need to keep a jar of mayonnaise? Wait, no! They won’t fix it. They don’t cover leaks of any kind. I just read the fine print. So I guess I’ll have to save up to buy my own frig. Good thing it’s only $350 to begin with.
~The small leak in my basement started when I let the neighbor kids pressure wash my driveway and they got excited and did my front porch also. Apparently, the dirt and grime on my front porch was what was keeping it from leaking. I would like to get that fixed but so far everyone wants to put in elaborate (and expensive) French drains, either by the porch or up at the top of my driveway. I just want to spray on something that will waterproof it.
~I’ve taken my car in twice now to have the drains on the sunroof cleared out. (Really, all you need is an air compressor and a wire coat hanger.) After 2 stays in the shop, it still leaks. I think I need new seals around a few of my doors/windows. That sounds very expensive and will have to wait.
~I was doing a load of laundry when I heard a gushing noise. The drain hose had come loose from the washer and water was going everywhere. I duct taped it back on and all has been well. When the warranty company said they wouldn’t cover the frig, I told them about my washer and someone is coming to fix it Friday.
Until then, I’m going into the mystic to find the answers.
