Some critters encountered in and around Myrtle Beach SC during the past few weeks….
Cannonball Jelly washed up on shore
Juvie gull—Ringbill, I think
Carp
Red-Eared Slider. Not native to these parts.
Water Snake—a Plain-Bellied, I think
Starlings. Nice-looking birdies, but invasive bastids.
American Coot
Double-Crested Cormorant dries her wings
Yellow-Bellied Slider
Loggerhead Shrike
Canada Goose
I think this is a Brown Thrasher….?
Cardinal. OK, they’re common as dirt—but they are still nice-looking birdies.
Great Egret takes off with a stick for his nest. (There was a nesting colony nearby.)
Woodpecker—Hairy or Downy, I can’t tell them apart.
Green Anole
This little fellow only posed for one photo. I don’t know what it is.
Alligator
Dragonfly
Eastern Mud Turtle
Red-Bellied Woodpecker
