So, for the first time in our Democracies History, More people identify as "non-religious", than Christian, Evangelical or even Catholic! Evangelicals need to ask themselves "why?" The answer is relatively easy to figure out though, if you think about it. What has changed in the last few years? Well, for one, the so-called ministry has become involved in politics; now, more than any other time in our history. They sold their proverbial souls to Donald Trump and his version of Republicanism. He "says" he is suddenly "a born again" Christian, repeals a law that forbid religious organizations to lobby Congress. Then Trump appeased Evangelicals by moving our embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv. This was a shitty attempt to "force" God to bring the Apocalypse to fruition and secure their places in the "new heaven". It also made it look like Mike Pence has "some" influence over Trump, which "energized" these so called Christians and somehow proved they didn't waste their vote on Trump. Religious leaders rushed to kiss Trumps ass and defend him, as well as tell their congregations that Trump is "doing Gods work" and we should follow and pray for him.
Trump, a lifelong admitted atheist, does not now or anytime in his recent past, "accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior", nor will he ever.
While you attend Church and Learn the word of God, he sleeps in and plays Golf and Tweets hate and anger. While you learn the golden rule, he believes he who has the gold MAKES the rules. He never admits mistakes, takes responsibility for his actions, continues to insult, belittles, outright lies and deceives, spews "hate" for immigrants and "non-white" people. He cheats on his wives, brags about molesting women and criticizes anyone who disagrees with him as "enemies of the State" and Socialists, angry Democrats or the "lying" press and "fake news. All cherished Christian fundamentals and backed by scripture, right?
He promised you all the "moon and stars" and gave you lies and promises he couldn't keep. All "Living a Christian lifestyle" encompasses, right?
"I'll release my taxes, no problem!" Kim Jung Un is a great leader! Putin said he didn't do it and I believe him. The tax break I am giving to the rich will be great for everyone. Cant make UAE mad, or they will raise gas prices! I wont cut medicare, Medicaid or Social Security.
All promises and lies. After all Jesus lied to the masses too, didn't he?
"IF" Trump was "doing Gods will", wouldn't more people BECOME Christians, instead of fleeing from religion? Wouldn't we all want to follow his "example"? Like they did with Mohammad and Jesus and Buddha?
The "example" he "sets" are why you are losing members daily. You can't preach peace and then condone hate. You can't tear babies from their mothers arms and preach "love and tolerance" You can't, Mike Pence, say if you worked in a fast food restaurant and had to wait on a gay couple, you would "spit in their food", then call yourself a believer in the Bible. You can't "quote" the Old Testament, which was designed for the "Children of Israel" to follow and then praise Jesus who came to save the rest of us. Even Jesus didn't preach to non Hebrews. His Apostles did, for him. The Old was for the Hebrews, and are stories told before written language, later written from memory to many languages, and then sorted, edited, and put together by a Roman Emperor, after choosing which books to exclude from the final version. It in no way is perfect, exact, or the "true word" of God. It is a collection of stories to help teach morality and virtue as well as some history. Those who claim otherwise, never read and understood it. The Story of Jesus was a compilation of several, not all, the texts found centuries AFTER his supposed death and resurrection. Scriptures, translated from several languages, built, edited, and put into book form, by a once Pagan Emperor who found Jesus on a battle field and later became the first "Pope." The exact word of God? I don't think so.
The "message" is good though. Be nice to everyone. Share the wealth. Help those who need it. Forgive freely. Love openly. Bless those you can help. Follow the commandments.Treat strangers as you would want to be treated. Protect the defenseless, and children. All things Trump doesn't do, follow or practice, yet your Religious leaders continually praise his actions and equate them to the "will of God." Why?
Putting kids and babies in cages doesn't seem to Christiany to me. Telling people to break the law, cause Trump has your back, doesn't seem to be too Godly to me either. Threatening violence if you don't win doesn't seem to be any book of the Bible I ever read either. I have read it covers to cover more than a dozen times too.
Let me be clear here too. I am NOT an Atheist or Satanist, or Buddhist. I believe in a divine power. I believe we will all be held responsible for our actions or lack of here on earth. I don't believe in Hell. I believe it is a concoction of the church to scare people into belief. Hell is the pit God chained Satan in, as well as his followers or fallen angels. I believe "IF and when" God decides to "return" it will be when he wants to, not because Evangelicals set it up to happen.
I believe Adam and Eve were the first male and female in the lineage of Jesus, and NOT the Mother and Father of all "mankind". I believe there were many Noahs’ and many Arks throughout the world, not just the one that carried Jesus ancestors. I believe we are not alone in the universe. I believe we are the stewards of our Planet and are failing to take care of it. I believe we are our Brothers keepers and need to destroy poverty and bigotry and hatred. I believe God hates war and those who wage it without warrant. I believe many religions teach truths and morality, not just Judaism or Christianity or Islam. I believe God has many names, in many faiths and had many sons who taught his words. I believe we should learn the tenants of all religions and understand they all lead to the same place in the end. We should never call anyone religion the "Right" one and never fight over philosophical differences. You can't force, beat, starve or neglect anyone into believing "your" religion is the "one and only". I believe we should accept the practices of others and respect their desire to want to adhere to those beliefs.
Fox Chose to pick on the headscarf worn by a Muslim Senator in practice of her religions belief, without criticizing Amish, Mennonites, Jewish sects or Nuns, though they all wear head coverings to honor their faiths practices too. Jesus would have called them Hypocrites.
If Christians want this decade to be the end of their religious expansion, then by all means keep praising the "Godly" actions of this so called President and connecting his actions to being born again.
As the song says this will be the decade "the music died". Keep justifying the unjustifiable. Keep praising the horrible. Keep equating Godliness to Godless acts. Keep looking to the sky and begging for his return. Like he told an Apostle, "he would come as a thief in the night" when you are least ready.
So let er rip. Call me names. Tell me how horrible I am. Tell me how God will punish me for Blasphemy and being a heretic. People followed Jesus for what he did, not what he threatened. For his promise of Heaven, not the treat of Hell. For his treatment of others, not how he was treated. For the Peace he brought, not the threat of hate and war.
Its just My opinion, put to words. Share it, delete it. Think about it or not. I just felt the need to share it. After all more people are now "non-religious" than identifying as Catholic or Evangelical, than any other time in our recorded history. I wonder why?
