Surprise, NOT! This is what you call a cover-up by Attorney General William Barr.
Not all of Robert S. Mueller III’s findings will be news to President Trump when they are released Thursday morning.
Justice Department officials have had numerous conversations with White House lawyers about the conclusions made by Mr. Mueller, the special counsel, in recent days, according to people with knowledge of the discussions. The talks have aided the president’s legal team as it prepares a rebuttal to the report and strategizes for the coming public war over its findings.
Remember when Barr refused to answer, under oath, whether the White House had seen the Mueller report? Now we know why he didn’t answer this question.
There is no question that Barr is doing everything he can to cover for Trump.
Tomorrow will be a moment of truth time for the media. Are they going to be a mouthpiece for this administration again, or are we going to see hard hard-hitting reporting?
Chuck Todd simply questioning why Barr is holding a news conference isn’t going to cut it. We’ll see how Chuck and his colleagues in the media react after Barr’s sham of a news conference, especially with the knowledge of the New York Times report in hand.
Tomorrow there will be plenty of deception and lies coming from the Attorney General. Let’s hope the media actually practices some real journalism. We need Edward R. Murrow now, not the National Enquirer.
