I hope everyone had a good Easter/Passover weekend. I for one slept through most of it, my dad made a Shepherd’s pie, it was awesome.
In any case, onto the news.
The FBI on Saturday said it had arrested Larry Hopkins, the leader of an armed group that is stopping undocumented migrants after they cross the U.S.-Mexico border into New Mexico.
The arrest came two days after the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) accused the group of illegally detaining migrants and New Mexico's Democratic Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham ordered an investigation.
Hopkins, 69, also known as Johnny Horton, was arrested in Sunland Park, New Mexico, on a federal complaint charging him with being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition, the Federal Bureau of Investigation said in a statement.
I’m sure you’ve all heard the disgusting news of armed militia assholes attacking people at the border, well a bit of sunshine in the case is they seem to have caught the leader of one such group. I hope more arrests follow, this disgusting display can’t be allowed to continue.

Surprising no one, Trumps popularity took a big hit after the Mueller report. I can’t wait to see how bad it gets when the unredacted one comes out.
House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman
Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) suggested Friday that impeachment proceedings against
President Trump could be a possibility following the release of special counsel
Robert Mueller's report.
Cummings stressed in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that Democrats will continue their investigations into Trump as they decide their next steps after the Justice Department released Mueller's report on his probe into Russia's election interference.
There seems to be a lot of split on whether we should go for impeachment or not, whether its worth the effort while McConnell is protecting Trump, whether a failed Impeachment attempt would hurt Trump. I push carts for a living so I’m not possessed of a political acumen, so I for one am trusting Nancy Pelosi’s judgement and backing her play of not impeaching just yet. That being said keeping the threat of Impeachment over Donny’s head is a good idea as well, since it will only help us to have him continue to fret and fidget and be miserable and afraid.
Now that consensus is shattering. For the first time in decades, capitalism's future is a subject of debate among presidential hopefuls and a source of growing angst for America's business elite. In places such as Silicon Valley, the slopes of Davos, Switzerland, and the halls of Harvard Business School, there is a sense that the kind of capitalism that once made America an economic envy is responsible for the growing inequality and anger that is tearing the country apart.
I spend a lot of time on Tumblr, and one of the recurring things that I see on there is how much people hate Capitalism, I see stories about how kids have to sell their X-boxes to buy their mom a car, about how people have to resort to crowdfunding to afford medical treatments, and other stuff like that, and it is frustrating, considering I’m a 35 year old man who lives with his dad because I can’t afford to live on my own with the one job I have (and since my dad will be moving in a few years, I need to figure out how to either get more money or find other living arrangements or I might end up homeless.)
So yeah, I’m not exactly shedding any tears for the guys who have more money than they will ever use, hoarding it as a status symbol instead of actually using it as intended. Feel free to disagree and give your own hot take in the comments. Am I alone here?
There’s one topic almost every 2020 Democratic presidential candidate agrees on: removing marijuana from the federal list of controlled substances.
Nearly every candidate has offered support for the federal legalization of recreational marijuana and many have called to expunge federal charges for those prosecuted for pot use.
Ten states and the District of Columbia have legalized recreational marijuana use and more states have signaled interest in doing so. Public opinion has shifted in favor of legalization, with 61% of Americans believing marijuana should be legal. Democrats support it even more, with 76% favoring legal marijuana, according to a 2018 poll of 2,348 American adults.
And of course I like to end on a relatively light note as usual. Sooo, happy belated 4/20 everyone!
Anyway that’s the good news for this week. See you guys next week.
