New N.H. poll has Pete B. surging upward into the no. 3 spot with 15% of the vote. That’s enough to get delegates.
The “what” is not as important as the “why.”
Why is Pete B. getting this kind of support?
I think it comes down mainly to this:
Pete B. is a great communicator who answers policy questions by first talking about what our values are and should be, and then explaining how the values are best effectuated by the policy he’s discussing. He grounds all of his policy discussions in values.
He does not do what most politicians do: State a policy proscription and back it up with a promise it will work or a scary scenario if it is not implemented.
Instead, Pete B. first talks about our values and then discusses why the policy furthers those values.
It’s clearly effective.
Time for the rest of the Dems to start following suit or they might be left behind.
