In honor of May Day, I present this tweet I saw.
The point is, the things that were called a fantasy (M4A in 2016 by the Democratic nominee) can become a reality. A $15 hour an hour minimum wage is becoming a reality in many places. Medicare for All just had a House committee hearing.
An 8 hour day did not appear out of the goodness of factory owners. It was a radical idea that people fought for. It seemed impossible at one time. The prevailing wisdom of the upper class/political class called it a fantasy. And yet working people forced it to happen.
Change is possible if you believe the current way is not the only possible way.
Tony Benn, a UK Labor MP who renounced his title, said it well:
"Democracy is the most revolutionary idea. Communism and capitalism have one thing in common: they're both anti-democratic. Democracy empowers the poor and gives them political power which was previously in hands of the rich. It transfers power from wallet to ballot.

Change is possible, if you fight for it. It does not have to be this way.
About Tony Benn:
Benn inherited a peerage on his father's death (as 2nd Viscount Stansgate), which prevented his continuing as an MP. He fought to remain in the House of Commons,[3] and then campaigned for the ability to renounce the title, a campaign which succeeded with the Peerage Act 1963.
