Earlier this spring, after Jacob Wohl was busted for using one of his Twitter bots to send himself a fake death threat, I opined in RDTDaily that Wohl represented everything that is wrong with our political culture. Well, after his second (at least) attempt to make vicious, heinous and false accusations one of his and Trump’s political foes imploded, I think I may have been too kind. Wohl isn’t just an example of everything that is wrong with out politics. He is a clear and present danger to any reasonably civilized society.
Think about it, folks. This is a guy whose hate for Robert Mueller and Pete Buttigeg ran so deep that he couldn’t just content himself with falsely accusing them of sexual assault. No, no. He actually recruited people who would never be predisposed to engage in this sort of criminal activity as potential accomplices. Fortunately, both potential accomplices backed out when they realized what they were getting into. But it doesn’t look like Wohl cares. All that matters is helping Trump Make America Great Again. And all that matters is winning.
If your hate for someone runs so deep that you’re willing to frame them, it’s bad enough. But to try to rope in third parties as accomplices? That is absolutely heinous and depraved. You can’t leave someone like that out there.
Wohl was already staring down the barrel of a federal criminal investigation into his attempt to frame Mueller, as well as a state investigation in Minnesota into his bogus death threat. Now he’s likely to face a third investigation. I realize they may be taking their time to make sure they can put Wohl in a position where his only option is to make him adopt the posture of a supplicant begging for mercy. But good grief, hurry up and get enough to get this guy off the streets. I repeat—guys like Wohl are a clear and present danger to society at large, and must be locked up for as long as legally possible.
