This morning I focused on Senate races. Tonight I’m highlighting a couple of victories that we’ve seen in state races the past few weeks.
Oh, and there are recall attempts going on in Colorado — another effective way to overturn voting results.
Rep. Galindo is being targeted because of identity, and her unwillingness to be a tool for the oil and gas industry.
Other Democrats are being targeted because of their vote in favor of the multi-state compact bill.
Statements of purpose, the first step before the petition filing, have been submitted to the secretary of state. They target state Sen. Jeff Bridges of Greenwood Village and Rep. Meg Froelich of Englewood. Both voted in favor of Senate Bill 42.
The measure would add Colorado to a multi-state compact that would direct Colorado's nine Electoral College votes to whichever presidential candidate wins the national popular vote.

I know, it’s the Intercept, but it’s a good article.
Recall efforts have also been launched against Polis, Rep. Meg Froelich and Sen. Jeff Bridges, but no official petitions have been approved. According to state law, a governor must be in office for at least six months before a recall can be petitioned. Polis opponents would have to obtain 630,000 signatures in 60 days to get a recall election on the next ballot, and the signatures can’t be collected until July.
It isn’t an empty threat, either. The last time Colorado Democrats held a trifecta of control, two Democratic lawmakers were successfully voted out of office in the state’s first-ever recall elections. Former Senate President John Morse and Sen. Angela Giron were ousted in an NRA-led effort for their support of tougher gun laws following the Sandy Hook and Aurora mass shootings. Those recalls have haunted Colorado politics since.

As Californians know too well, Governor Gray Davis was successfully voted out of office in a recall effort that was basically an electoral coup. It was awful, it launched Darrell Issa’s political career and although Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn’t an atrocious republican, he still wasn’t a good governor, and it took years to recover from his tenure, (Thanks, Gov. Jerry Brown!).
Never ever forget that republicans are willing to cheat and steal to win elections, and subvert the will of the people.
