There I was this morning, drinking a lovely mug of vanilla-syrup enhanced covfefe with cream, chatting w Mr. Brillig, and scrolling through facebook when it happened. I saw a thing I could not unsee. No not the Orange Menace doing something asinine, dangerous to democracy, or making Resting Asshat Face. Something utterly unexpected.
It was the image above, asking how I write the letter X. Which led to my covfefe growing cooler while I checked, because it’s not something you know without actually doing it. Grab a beverage and hop below the Story Break, and we will all pretend not to notice that you’re making X’s while you do so...

Please please please include a few words about why you sent it in as well as your user name (even if you think we know it already :-)), so we can credit you with the find!
A bit of internet sleuthing let me know I am, as always, late to the meme party. It started as a tweet by @SMASEY and took on a life of its own. There was a great writeup on Mashable suggesting most Americans are either a 7 or 8 and Brits are a 5 or 6, based on handedness. I admit to being unsure what to make of people who do anything in the top row. But I am open-minded, and welcome Xers of all persuasions! Which are you? For the record, I am a left-handed 7 while Mr. Brillig is a right-handed 8.
While you’re trying all the other ways to write the letter X, peruse the trio of Top Comments, Mojo and Pictures, brought to you by BeninSC who is a gem no matter how he writes his X!
Brillig's ObDisclaimer: The decision to publish each nomination lies with the evening's Diarist and/or Comment Formatter. My evenings at the helm, I try reeeeallllyy hard to publish everything without regard to content. I really do, even when I disagree personally with any given nomination. "TopCommentness" lies in the eyes of the nominator and of you, the reader - I leave the decision to you. I do not publish self-nominations (ie your own comments) and if I ruled the world, we'd all build community, supporting and uplifting instead of tearing our fellow Kossacks down.
Note: Please remember that comment inclusion in Top Comments does not constitute support or endorsement by diarist, formatter, Top Comments writers or DailyKos. Questions, complaints or comments? Contact brillig.

I want to nominate this comment from learn because it made me laugh, then it made me cry, and then it made me laugh again. In Greg Dworkin’s Abb. Pundit Roundup today.
From BeninSC:
I am submitting this comment by first time Daily Kos commenter, sprouticus, about the killing of his unarmed brother by a police officer. Heartbreaking story. Please let sprouticus know you know how wrong it is.
From Albanius:
Is this fine comment with important advice, by Clio2 .
Highlighted by 4CasandChlo:
Is this scary and disheartening comment by bcallan about changing reality even in our schools.
Highlighted by vclib:
Is this comment by democratos with thoughtful considerations about the use of the term ‘traitor’ in our political dialogue. There is plenty to criticize without it.
