Chicory grows as a weed in southeast Michigan. It is really hard to get rid of — it’s root is like a skinny carrot. A yard-long skinny carrot.
We are like that chicory. Blooming blue, regardless of hardship. We bloom in the dirt around urban trees. We bloom in suburban yards. We bloom in weedy areas along roads.
We are hard to get rid of. We just keep growing and blooming.
I didn’t pay a lot of attention to which Thursday this month was missing a Good News author. I thought it was next week.
