Tweeted this out yesterday morning. Yesterday afternoon I got this picture of a woman standing outside the employee’s entrance to the White House. Man I love the internet.
I’m staying on in DC for awhile. I think my work goes a lot further here, especially now. The Republicans need to know we’re mad and that we’re not going to be ruled by Russian puppets without a fight. And expressing anger is something I’ve gotten really good at over the years.
Didn’t see a single thing up when I got here, but for the past two weeks I’ve kept signs up continually on the beltway, I-66 and I-95, with one or two on I-395. You wouldn’t believe how easy, and fun, this was to pull off. But maybe some day you will.
Anyway, I’ve just about burned through the original $3000 that brought me here and UNSEATpac has set up a GoFundMe page to help extend my stay. Please give a little if you can. Trust me, you want me here. One person makes a huge difference when the freeways normally don’t have any protest: it doesn’t take much to be heard in a room that’s totally quiet.
Speaking of which, I’m pleased to report that Indivisible St Louis now has a projector and that fact alone has made the city look like a hotbed of civil unrest.
I witnessed the phenomenon myself driving up the 99 and how just seeing a couple of the Cisco Kid’s signs made Fresno look like it was on the brink of revolt, even though I knew it was just the one guy doing it. Looks can be deceiving, and as Sun Tzu wrote, “All warfare is based on deception.” And make no mistake, we are a nation a war. For over two years we’ve been given nothing but deception and it’s high time we gave a little back.
That’s all for now — thanks to our usual suspects and welcome aboard St. Louis.
Here’s that GoFundMe link again and don’t worry if you can’t help out just now.
If you’re a member of Greenpeace you can help me out by cancelling your membership and telling them it’s because the freeway sign guy told you to. They’ve got about $2500 of mine they’re not giving back so I’m forced to take direct action against them. It’s a long and poignant story, and one I intend on telling for a long, poignant time. But the moral is you shouldn’t fuck with a Greenpeace-trained activist, especially if you’re Greenpeace.
