Good evening, O ye readers of beach books, staying-at-home-on-rainy-evenings books, and anyone who would simply love to think about something other than the fools on the Hill. It’s here, folks!
Turnabout is available on Amazon, Apple Books, Nook, Kobo, and other platforms. Whatever your particular device—Kindle, iPad, or phone—you can take this to the beach with you and chuckle while you read of the goings-on in this light-hearted romance.
Yeah, I know. Chick lit, right? But wait—this is a different kind of romance! This time, the naive twenty-something protagonist is a guy, and the rich, dashing, gorgeous CEO is a woman.
Here’s the blurb that describes the background:
Twenty-four-year-old Nicholas Frayne is consumed by one idea—getting rich—until he meets Brooke Parnell, founder and CEO of Freedom Fashions. After he accepts the job of marketing specialist at her company, Nick embarks on the wildest ride of his life, never knowing what Brooke is going to do or say next. Little by little, Brooke chips away at Nick’s preconceptions as to how women should look and behave. And even though his social media ads contribute to the company’s success, Nick is afraid he’ll never win Brooke’s heart—until Freedom Fashions’ biggest gamble of all turns the fashion world on its ears.
Despite the ups and downs of their relationship, Nick’s love for Brooke grows stronger with time: even the disclosure of her unusual past makes no difference to his feelings. Will Brooke choose a man equal to her in power, sophistication, and financial success, or will she come to value Nick for himself?
One of the most fun aspects of this novella is the frequent mention of an ancient civilization. Just wait until it pops up in the second half of the book! You’ll be amazed.
You could let your grandmother read this book. (Well, if your grandmother is of a decidedly liberal turn of mind, you could.) There’s no graphic s-x to shock her, the strongest swear word is “damn” (and that only appears two or three times), and I promise you, at 40,000 words it’s not going to go on forever.
Anonymous Millennial, the beta reader, said this book contains “no boring bits.” So do pick up a copy and have a giggle—Turnabout won’t strain your brain, your wallet, or your patience!
And if you like it, perhaps you could be very kind and leave a review? T’would be “a consummation devoutly to be wished,” as someone rather famous once said.
