UPDATE: EVERYTHING IS STILL NOT OK IN OKLAHOMA.
All 77 counties in the state are under severe flood warning. The entire state.
In Oklahoma, Tulsa officially say the dikes and berms are still holding, barely.. But if the water rises much more, it will over take the dikes and be a flood of historic proportions.
They are warning residents to get the heck out before that happens.
forecasters are saying it could take weeks for flood waters to recede in many areas.
Nope, everything is NOT OK.
Wake up folks: Climate Catastrophe is here and the new norm.
What are we going to do. Roll over and die? or figure something out and get with the program to address this issue head on.
Time for real mobilization. Time for a WAR ON CLIMATE Disasters! lets spend that Trillion or so the military gets every year toward protecting us from a real threat. I think every able bodied military person, every guard person, every reserve person, all our resources at the pentagon. Should be mobilized to do work every day fighting against and trying to mitigate this greatest of all enemies. All our federal resources. State resources, defense resources, manufacturing capacity. Intellectual property and know how from universities and research centers.
And All our think tanks put to work. All our universities. All our factories that currently make auto’s. All of silicon valley. All of apple, microsoft, google, amazon, ibm, oracle.. all of boeing and mcdonnell douglas.. all of it.. time to mobilize for an all out WAR AGAINST Climate CRISIS. Time for All our energies to get in the game and do this! this is far more serious than any of our World Wars. time is nigh folks. Get in the game.
We have the resources (for now), the know how to do most of this pretty fast,… do we have the will and the strength to do the right thing?

massive flooding today. More on the way.
how much pain is required before red state residents wake up and start to lobby for...no, DEMAND…. effective efforts to mitigate climate catastrophe?
Also, I note it is bemusing how all those climate maps that show the rise of sea levels and what coastal cities would be underwater.. none of them show how low lying areas of the center of the USA from Texas all the way up to Iowa and Kansas and even Tennessee would turn into swampy marshland also prone to annual flooding. at lot of that land is / was marshy.. and very close to rivers and other drainage that can back up and flood over dikes..
The center is definitely not ‘safe’ from climate catastrophe effects.
