Korean War Death - 1LT Warren Webster Iii
Yesterday, I spent a few minutes remembering my father’s cousin, Warren Webster III of Haddonfield, NJ who was killed in action, by a North Korean sniper, in 1953. Webster was later awarded the Bronze Star and the Silver Star. I never knew Warren and was born after he died. My father, however, was five years younger and knew him well and Webster’s example was one reason my Dad served in the US Air Force. Warren was a hero. He was a West Point grad who had a cushy but important job as an aide to a General but shortly before he was scheduled to return home, Webster insisted that he go into combat. He got his wish and paid a heavy price.
I have no idea what Warren Webster’s politics were. He was an American first. I’m certain that he would be repulsed that the President of the United States writes ”love letters” to Kim Jung Un, skides with thugs over a great person, Joe Biden, and has never met a dictator he didn’t like. Trump makes a daily mockery of the 37,000+ Americans who served and died in the Korean War including Warren Webster III. Shame on Trump and his GOP enablers! SHAME!
