Trump sees in Boris a kindred soul. Which is not inaccurate. And Boris certainly seems eager to follow in Trump’s footsteps, in holding his nation’s highest political office, from which he can wreak havoc on immigrants and those not already wealthy. But back in 2015, when Boris was still Mayor, David Cameron was yet to blow up England and his own political party, and Russia, James Comey, and a disastrous American media hadn’t yet installed Trump in the Oval Office, Boris at least saw Trump for what he is.
No doubt, Trump and Boris will be nice to each other, now. Trump just lauded Boris’s attempt to become Britain’s next prime minister, as the Tories continually demonstrate that, yes, they can get worse. He probably doesn’t know about Boris’s previous words. It would be a shame if Trump found out.
