There are 20-some Democratic presidential candidates right now, and one of them will be our nominee. That means that even some of the more prominent candidates will be saying or doing great things that are slipping through the cracks of traditional media and social media. It means that almost everything the lesser-known candidates are doing will fall through cracks that are more like chasms.
Good stuff from Democrats deserves attention. Add to that the fact that we don’t all like every single one of the candidates, but that when the time comes, we’ll have to set that aside and get behind the nominee as our way to beat Donald Trump and start the long, hard task of fixing our country. And that’s where this round-up comes in. I’ll be looking for the best thing to come from as many candidates as possible each week, be it a policy, a quote, a tweet, an action.

Julián Castro announced his People First Policing Plan to “end over-aggressive policing and combat racially discriminatory policing,” “hold police accountable,” and “start the healing process between communities and law enforcement.”
Jay Inslee is fighting for the Democratic National Committee to sponsor a debate on climate change.
Cory Booker released his housing plan, which includes a tax credit for renters in unaffordable housing markets, zoning and regulation changes, and support for investment in affordable housing.
Joe Biden released a serious climate plan that embraced the Green New Deal. Mark Sumner writes that “even Biden, by far the most moderate of the major candidates for the Democratic nomination and someone whose statements in other areas have occasionally caused progressives to cringe, has committed himself to a climate package that is ambitious enough to have a serious impact in affecting the scale of the crisis we face. ”
Elizabeth Warren also released a strong climate plan, and we just really can’t have too many candidates who’ve done that. Warren backed Inslee’s push for a climate debate as well.
Bernie Sanders joined Walmart workers at the company’s shareholder meeting to call for higher wages and a voice for workers on the company’s board.
Kirsten Gillibrand has a marijuana legalization plan.
