One of the best memories that I have as a child involve a song about weather…
Raindrops keep falling on my head.
I do not remember the exact date, but it must have been around 1974 or so.
Detroit was having a severe weather event and flooding was everywhere,
Like most families in the Midwest we had a basement and during times of severe weather we, my mom, dad, brothers and sister, would hang out in the one bedroom we had downstairs until the storms rolled past.
It was one of the few “good” memories I have as a child..we were all together, concerned about each other.
Oddly enough the morning the storm broke the local radio station that we kept on played the song by B.J. Thomas to let everyone know that all was clear.
Every time that I listen to this song I get goose bumps and remember the good old days when they were actually good.
So… do you have a favorite song about the weather?
