As expected, the US Women’s Nation Team (USWNT) won the World Cup today. The skills, the spirit and the mental strength of this team were unmatched by any other team in this tournament.
There are a few other diaries on this joyful event today; this is yet another diary but one which provides an opportunity for readers to soak in the day’s events in its entirety. And to offer comments and insights about what this team and this win means for equal rights, women’s rights, the LGBTQ community and for progressive politics.

A new Nike Ad. “This team wins. Everyone wins. Victory is when we all win. It's only crazy until you do it.”
This victory seems and is much larger than winning a world final soccer match. It has put many issues on the front pages and raised much awareness of women’s and equal rights issues. It will certainly inspire a new generation of girls and boys. And it does makes republicans and trump look small and petty. How can we leverage this victory and the goodwill it generates to beat the dark forces of trump and the republicans in 2020?
What do you think?
