40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'
41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
-- Mathew 25:40-45
Mr. Vice President: I understand you self-identify as a Christian. I do not, but I have read the document that defines your religion.
I fully understand that the umbrella of Christianity covers a multitude of specific beliefs. There are Christians who believe that dancing is a sin. There are Christians who believe God commands them to sing and dance. (Make a joyful noise unto the Lord.) There are Christians who think Gods tells them not to bake a cake for anyone whose marriage they don't approve of. There are Christians who believe they should celebrate love without restrictions on gender.
In short, a lot of people have read the same book and taken away entirely different meanings.
But, for the life of me, I can't read the passage I've quoted above and see any way that anyone who calls himself a Christian could interpret that as not meaning you will go to hell if you don't help the men, women and children imprisoned in concentration camps near our borders. It looks pretty explicit to me.
Mr. Vice President, if Jesus had been on that tour with you, would he have done what you did?
Please don't continue to lie about your faith. You are no Christian.
