The Ancient Burying Ground was the primary cemetery in Hartford for 150 years. In all some 6,000 people were buried here: today, the cemetery has been reduced to about 415 graves, ranging from 1648 to 1836.
There is a self-guided walking tour that points out notable graves, and some information about the people who are known to have carved some of the gravestones over the years.
For those who don't know, I live in a converted campervan and am traveling around the country, posting photo diaries of places that I have visited. :)
