Selected Poems by e.e. cummings (edited by Richard S. Kennedy)— One of my weaknesses is that I don’t read a lot of poetry and cummings is someone that I’ve always wanted to read.
What little training and study that I’ve had in poetry has always emphasized that poetry was meant to be spoken and heard...which prepares you somewhat for cummings; he actually reads aloud very well even through the twists and turns in his language. But he is most famous, I suppose, for the visual effects of reading his poems on the page…for the most part, I haven’t gotten to those poems but I’ve taken a peek at them.
