Happy Woozleday!! I have some most excellent woozle news.
As many of our older Peeps know, our beloved slksfca (silky to many of us) adopted a wonderful woozle named Dixie, some years ago. Dixie had been in a puppy mill, used (and abused) to “produce” puppies. She was rescued and sent to Muttville which is a rescue site for woozles in San Francisco. Dixie was the bestest girl, but sadly, she had many health issues and crossed the Rainbow Bridge after only three years in her Forever Home. Those three years were a delight for all of us, not the least for Dixie. They were undoubtedly the happiest three years any woozle could have. She was loved beyond measure, and missed more than words can say.
Since then, silky has mourned and waited to find his next WoozleGirl.
Finally, on Saturday, the dreams came true!
I’d like you to meet “Dorothy” who’s name has been shortened to “Dot”.

The day she found her Forever Home….
From Muttvile, the site in SF where silky met both his girls:
Have you traveled down the road and back again, searching for a pal and a confident? Meet Dorothy!
Dorothy is a charming little Chihuahua who knows that there’s more to life than cookies and cheesecake! Dorothy is pure gold, through and through; and she is definitely the most golden of girls around! She is friendly, intelligent, and ready to have some fun! To be honest though, this little Dorothy would probably feel more comfortable in a sarong than a 1980s bulky sweater with shoulder pads … so you might say that this little Chi is more like Dorothy Lamour than Dorothy Zbornak … but, regardless of which Dorothy she more resembles, she will steal your heart faster than you can say, “Shady Pines, Ma”! And, just like another Dorothy, this Dorothy knows that there’s no place like home.
Dorothy is estimated to be 7 years young and 15 pounds.
We’re delighted to report that Dorothy is currently in a loving and caring home!
As silky posted on his FB page:
Why "Dot"? Well, because Dorothy = Dot—but it's also a nod to Broadway legend Bernadette Peters.
One of Bernadette Peters' most iconic roles was of Georges
Seurat's model and muse, Dot, in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, winner of the 1985 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, a theatrical masterpiece about the creation of an artistic masterpiece (I saw the painting in Chicago in 1983 at the Art Institue and was knocked out by it).
But in addition, "In 1998 Broadway Barks was co-founded by best friends Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters, as a result of their passion for animals. Originally conceived as a program to promote the adoption of shelter animals, Barks has evolved from an annual event to an organization that extends beyond the plight of homeless animals. It has fostered a spirit of community among many animal shelters and rescue groups"
https://www.broadwaybarks.com/about
"Broadway Barks has assisted in placing thousands of pets in loving homes with the help of volunteers and celebrities alike."
And then there’s that other Dorothy…...
one ear...
two ears!!
Words cannot express how delighted I am that my dear friend and fellow goofball has found a new furbaby!! I hope in coming weeks/months, they’ll come by to share their adventures with us. Until then…
Guess what today is?
Other woozles are happy about this, too!!
And with that…..have a fantabulous Woozleday of your very own!!!
