This morning in the local paper, The Culpeper Star-Exponent, was an article linked HERE. In this article, Nick Freitas, the incumbent, was telling us he was hoping to get his name on the ballot next Tuesday, August 6 when the State Board of Elections meet again. There were eight paragraphs about Nick and only two paragraphs about Ann F. Ridgeway, the Democratic candidate for the 30th House seat who followed the rules and is on the ballot.
But that was just the beginning of this story today. What was not mentioned in the article above, was that Nick had received a letter from the Department of Elections on Friday explaining why his name would not be added to the Ballot. This was discovered by Washington Post reporter, Laura Vozzella. In a story posted today at 5:11 pm and linked HERE.
Therefore, Ann F. Ridgeway will be the only candidate for the 30th House of Delegate’s seat. As I posted in my first and second posts, we need everyone who can, to assist Ann by donating HERE, If we can raise enough money to show Nick Freitas he cannot win by mounting a write-in campaign. We may win this seat in August.
