Karma is really fun sometimes, huh?
A police officer in Muskegon, Michigan, was placed on administrative leave after a black man who was interested in buying his house saw a framed KKK application on his wall and Confederate flags in his house and garage.
The officer, Charles Anderson, is on leave indefinitely, pending an investigation.
MLive:
The Muskegon man, Rob Mathis, posted on Facebook that he and his wife saw Confederate flags in the house and garage, and a framed “Application for citizenship” to the Ku Klux Klan on a wall in a bedroom. Mathis posted a picture of the framed KKK document on Facebook.
…
“I immediately stopped my walk-through and informed the realtor that I am not writing an offer on this home and I am leaving now,” Mathis wrote on Facebook about after he saw the KKK document. “I feel sick to my stomach knowing that I walk to the home of one of the most racist people in Muskegon hiding behind his uniform and possibly harassing people of color and different nationalities.”
Mathis did not name Anderson in his post but concluded: “To the officer, I know who you are and I will be looking at resources to expose your prejudice. As for now pictures speak 1000 words.”
Muskegon City Manager Frank Peterson confirmed that the home is owned by Officer Anderson.
I don’t know a lot about selling homes, but I know baking chocolate chip cookies before prospective buyers show up is a tried-and-true tactic. Maybe change up the light fixtures or add in a few hand-embroidered throw pillows? Leaving KKK shit sitting out when you’re trying to make your house look appealing to non-assholes? Not so much.
Racists are becoming bolder and more prideful about their assholerly the longer the Orange Abomination occupies the Oval. We need to match — or, rather, exceed — their intensity. And in 2020, we need to quarantine Patient Zero once and for all.
Oh, and this cop better fucking get fired. Like, soon.
