She never has. In this day and time, I need to know that. It’s comforting. That Kamala, a black woman in this country, in this time of Trump’s betrayal, cruelty, and encouraged hatreds — never quits, always keeps fighting for all of us, matters deeply. Her courage and caring are an antidote to the carnage we are witnessing, a reason for hope in horrific dark days.
She’s a much better human being than I am, and I’m very thankful for that.
Obviously, I belive that Kamala has the skill set that the country desperately needs to begin to heal and repair the deep damage being done by this crime syndicate of an Administration. I keep questioning my assumptions, doing further homework, waiting to be proven wrong about Kamala.
I never am.
Did you know that along with her law degree that Kamala has a degree in economics? Why yes, she does. And she loves the arts. She’s a Renaissance woman basically — brilliant, analytical and creative — a unique thinker. A thinker who does not do bumper sticker thinking, but instead looks at an issue from every possible angle. A thinker with deep empathic and ethical roots.
And she has the track record to prove it. From her fight for justice for children who have been horribly abused, creating second chances for low level drug offenders, standing up for the LGBTQ community’s right to love, to protecting vulnerable communities from environmental injustice — Kamala has always been there.
It’s not just me paying attention to Kamala’s deep thinking about the issues. Other candidates are too.
And Pete’s not alone. From Kamala’s work on addressing the Maternal Mortality Rate for Black Women, to her years long fight for environmental justice, others have taken notice and stepped up as well.
And it’s working. Kamala is building a coalition that will be unstoppable. We need a historic Blue Wave next year and she knows it.
And all while her campaign, the Black community at large, and her supporters have been under attack from multiple sources. I’ve been observing the attacks for months now and have been horrified and infuriated. And I’m white. Now, just for a moment — try to imagine how the Black community feels.
Kamala doesn’t shy away from hard truths.
She has faced them all her life. If she doesn’t shy away from difficult realities, neither should we.
There it is. So what are we going to do about it? We going to face it or run away? Are we going to face it and in so doing prevent the Russians and others from manipulating and dividing us, or are we going to allow ourselves to be played yet again? The choice is, as always, ours. So is the responsibility.
in the mean time, Kamala keeps working, keeps fighting to leave no one behind.
And all while working to hold the traitorous crime syndicate of the Trump administration accountable.
Today’s group post is no doubt a bit disjointed. The last few days, weeks, have been exhausting. And Trump’s betrayal of the Kurds is ever on my mind. Sleep has been hard to find lately. I’m tired, heartsore, and sure I’m not alone.
These women, all the fierce Kurdish women fighters, haunt my heart. ISIS hates them most. And the conservative elements in Turkey, Syria, and, yes, here are not far behind.
My family has always fought for this country, including along side George Washington in the War for Independence. My SO is a PTSD disabled Viet Vet. His first rule is never leaving anyone behind. They had to drag him out of Nam after serving multiple tours because he refused to leave the “babies” they were sending over behind. You don’t have to think hard to imagine how he’s responding to Trump’s heinous betrayal of our steadfast Kurdish allies.
I’m familiar with betrayal and abandonment for other reasons so this has hit me hard as well.
That’s why Kamala’s thoughtfulness, caring, and steadfastness matters. That’s why she is both comfort and inspiration.
She is the complete opposite of Trump. She would never do what he has done — put babies in cages and leave people to fight alone. She never leaves anyone behind.
And so will we. We’re leaving no one to fight alone.
Let’s get it done.

Group Guidelines
The Kamala2020 community group has been created to positively support Senator Kamala Harris, and not to engage in negativity towards other Democrats running in the 2020 primaries.
All should be made to feel welcomed here. What’s not welcomed here is petty bickering over any of our preferred candidates, or personal attacks on fellow Democrats. We’re not responsible for the actions of others who may offend, insult or attempt to sow discord and disunity — that’s on them.
What we are responsible for are our own words and actions — that’s 100% on us.
I’d like to ask all group members, as well as those dropping by who support or are interested in Kamala’s bid for the nomination, that we not respond to negativity from other campaign’s supporters with even more negativity. Let’s do better than our best and respond with respect, humor or try to hold our peace. Recipes and cat pics work, too 😃
Doing no harm costs us nothing... pie-fights will cost us everything.
