I saw articles today in Politico and WaPost about George Conway the Third saying that White House advisors should resign. What’s funny, or strange, is that I said the same thing two weeks ago and was NOT covered in either Politico or the Washington Post. Nothing! Mr. Conway and I have the same amount of experience in the political theater, as do about 329,064,917 Americans, (although I never had the good fortune to hang out with Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge). And yet when he says something its splattered all over the press, just like the good old days when Sarah Palin tweeted something.
Now I admit at one point, we thought he would have some influence. His wife has the role of Minister of Disinformation at the White House. Her lies are so far from reality that we need a more extreme definition of lies. Remember the massacre at Bowling Green? I don’t. One would have thought that three years into it, Mr. Conway would have held a family intervention to tell Mrs. Conway that her boss is a sociopath. But there is no sign that this has happened.
Instead this dance continues. She says stupid stuff to justify the insane stuff her boss says, he writes op-eds and they wind up as “Look what George Conway says!” Enough. If he really wants to help the country, take Kellyanne out for a nice dinner and convince her to turn state’s evidence. Otherwise this couple is an exercise in branding as a poor man’s Carville and Matalin.
This blog is certainly not going to prevent the Conways from jumping in front of cameras, but perhaps an editor may see this and realize that Mr. Conway’s opinion is no more important than the other 329,064,916 Americans. And I would wager that some of them have more important things to say.
