It has been learned today that Lindsey Graham fell prey to a hoax call by two Russians that were pretending to be Turkish Foreign Ministers. www.politico.com/… In the call, Lindsey told them that Trump had a “personal interest” in this case that implicates Erdogan, the Turkish President, with a scheme to secretly funnel money into Iran. He also offered his and Trump’s “help” with the case. “’This case involving the Turkish bank?” Graham said. “He’s very sensitive. The president wants to be helpful within the limits of his power.’” www.politico.com/… Did Lindsey Graham just offer to have Trump and he intervene in a U.S. criminal case? What could this offer of “help” entail that would be within Trump’s legitimate power?
The US Department of Justice S.D. of N.Y. under Preet Bharara brought the case against a Turkish-Iranian businessman, Zarrab. Trump later fired Preet Bharara. Erdogan tried to pressure Biden to get Preet Bharara fired before Trump was elected. The case implicated Erdogan in the scheme where money was secretly funneled to Iran. Mike Flynn, who failed to disclose that he had been paid to lobby on behalf of the Turkish government, got caught up in this and was helping push for US policies regarding matters surrounding this that would benefit Erdogan and Turkey. This was part of the case against Mike Flynn.
Zaarab hired Rudy Giuliani and former U.S. Attorney General Michael Mukasey to defend him. www.thedailybeast.com/… Former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson just revealed that Trump pressured him to help get the case dropped against Rudy Giuliani’s client, Zaarab. www.esquire.com/… Now we have Lindsey Graham telling, who he thinks is the Turkish Foreign Minister, that he and Trump want to “help” with Erdogan with this case involving him being part of a secret scheme to funnel money into Iran. And remember Trump just let Turkey invade the Kurdish area in Syria against U.S. interests and against the advice of the Pentagon. Whose interests are Trump and Graham pursuing?
Turkey also has been violation of US and NATO sanctions because Turkey has been engaged in buying military weapons from Russia. Interesting how the Trump administration has been mum on this. www.theguardian.com/… Rather than mention that Turkey has been in violation of NATO sanctions, Trump’s surrogates have used Turkey’s membership in NATO to buffer Trump’s terrible decision to pull out of the Kurdish area and allow Turkey to invade. www.voanews.com/… Also, Trump fails to bring up the fact that Turkey has been cozying up to Russia which is troublesome for the US. www.militarytimes.com/...
This is a good read discussing Giuliani’s private work for shady Ukrainian/Russian oligarchs as well as Turkey. www.bloomberg.com/...
