Daisy craved attention. Whenever we took her out she loved the pets from the people we would see. She never knew a stranger, everyone was a pair of hands meant to pet her and she loved it.
VeloVixen and I want to thank everyone for the kind and supporting words expressed in VV’s tribute to Daisy. I wasn’t sure what I was going to write this AM, but a DM from someone expressing their sympathy and sharing their own mini tribute to their loss settled it, I had to say thanks for the responses.
It’s wonderful to know that there are so many animal lovers and pet owners here to support one another from our adoptions to our grief when one of our four-legged kids moves on. We’re not all going to make it to every post but there are enough of us that almost everyone is supported in their time of grief.
Abner is still looking for his sister when I take him out at night. He’s off leash just out the front door late enough that there’s no one around. Daisy would always take longer and wander up the side yard before going back inside (often at my encouragement, she would have stayed out there wandering). But Abner would be by the door patiently waiting, ready for bedtime. But now before we go in he stops and looks around the corner as if saying, okay Daisy, it’s time to come in now.
Thank you all for your thoughts, comments and shared emotional support.
