I swear I wish I was making this up, but I'm not. Trump, having the greatest wisdom and most impeccable brain ever, is apparently pondering suing the people in the government that are doing their job.
Trump, who has a long track record of calling for lawsuits against his critics and not following through, said, "We're going to take a look at it. We're going after these people. These are bad, bad people." The President was speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, DC.
Trump said he spoke to his lawyers about Schiff and told them, "Sue him anyway, even if we lose, the American public will understand." Schiff, the chairman of the House Intelligence committee, is spearheading the impeachment inquiry.
"And sue Nancy Pelosi," Trump continued. "Or maybe we should just impeach them, because they're lying and what they're doing is a terrible thing for our country." Members of Congress cannot be impeached, according to the US Constitution.
Yes, because Trump has been able to sue contractors for plumbing, woodwork, tiling, and who knows what other upkeep on his properties to keep them at a minimum "passing grade", he thinks he can simply sue Congressmen and wait them out.
In addition, no one has gotten through to Trump that members of Congress cannot be impeached. Expelled? Yes. When did that happen the most? When some members were pro-Slavery during the Civil War.
Even his lawyer (apology to real lawyers), Jay Sekoluw, is playing along.
"The pattern and practice of irregularities in this inquiry is reminiscent of the irregularities in the Mueller investigation," Sekulow said. "No President should be subjected to this political theater."
Robert Mueller, a lifelong Republican that followed so many rules as to corner his investigation into a "read between the lines for the facts" 400+ page document that outlined the crimes prior to the Ukraine nonsense; that was an "irregularity". And "political theater"? Jesus Christ, this entire horrid circus in the past three years, paid for by us, is the world shittiest reality show, but with consequences.
I'm not sure that he'll realize that he can't sue the people investigating him in time for something else to crop up, but I'm pretty sure something else will crop up. Trump is a walking, talking time bomb of stupid, and no one knows when the next explosion will come. But, if history is any guide, it won't take long.
Sue me if I'm wrong.
