I am now all in as a Kamala Harris supporter and I’m excited about the prospect of her being our next President. Every one of us who has made this decision has done so because she has touched us in some way that lets us know that she’s OUR champion.
Kamala has dedicated her professional life to fighting for marginalized communities, all Californians, all Americans and people from every walk of life. She has more than just “plans” to give us. Kamala can show us how she’s actually been in the trenches fighting for the people all of these years. She’s got receipts. She has either led on certain issues or she has given her full support to causes she deeply believes in. Harris has shown that she understands and relates to the struggle for human dignity, justice and the right to fully participate in everything the United States of America has to offer.
There are many people who don’t yet understand what her run for the Presidency means to “US” as a collective body of supporters. They don’t understand what her candidacy means to YOU as an individual. They don’t understand what her candidacy means to the people you care about and love.
Not only do they not get it, but they do not get how deeply hurtful, frustrating and angering it is for us to see the attempted ERASURE of Kamala’s existence as a viable presidential candidate.
I see this and I feel this. In fact, I’m writing this after allowing all of the pent up hurt and anger I feel over this easily recognizable attempt to make her a non-entity.
Yeah, many of us see what the toxic stew of institutional racism, misogyny, and coddled privilege does to candidates that pose a certain kind of threat to those who are deemed more “acceptable” for reasons some people do not want to publicly admit. But we see it and feel it, and we know there are some people who don’t think that this is something to be concerned about. It is.
All I want is an even playing field for my candidate. But they’ve already shown us that Kamala is going to have to work 10x as hard to get the same amount of respect and fair hearing as the other front runners. So be it.
We see and feel the effects of this attempted erasure. And, I’m here to tell you that I’m not going to roll over and accept this unfair treatment of my candidate without a fight.
How about you?
Are you up for this battle?
Because that’s what this is — a fierce battle for our desire to be equally respected, seen and listened to with sincerity (not platitudes or blatant pandering). It’s a battle between her supporters and everyone who has an interest in making sure she (the strong, caring, educated black woman with statewide and nationwide executive experience) doesn’t get too far in this race.
THEY are using their power and privilege to put their boot on the neck of her campaign, so to speak, just like we’ve seen and experienced countless times before during other battles for our piece of the American dream. Well, I’m tired of it, and I’m not going to go along with this plan of action to erase every, single champion of marginalized communities from this primary race.
I can already see that Kamala is likely to be the last POC candidate standing.
Are you feeling hurt, disappointed, puzzled, angry, discouraged or tired?
Well, imagine what Kamala feels as she gives this race her all — her complete heart and soul. I’m sure she’s had many of these same feelings, and yet, she persists.
So, if she can keep going and doing her thing as the original Joyful Warrior, so can we.
We are not conceding anything!
You see I was a Howard Dean supporter back in the day, so I know how others can plot to tear down and defeat a good candidate over something trivial. The Dean scream thing was b.s. and the dem candidate who ended up winning that primary wasn’t a fierce political fighter, and the country suffered greatly for it. So, here we are once again, and they want me to get behind someone I don’t feel is the leader this country needs for this moment in time?
Oh, no. Not. (clap) This. (clap) Time.
By attempting to erase and marginalize Kamala, they’re doing the same thing to me (and to you). But what they don’t know is that we refuse to play this erasure game. I refuse to be erased and marginalized.
Look, as hard as they try, they cannot erase our chosen candidate if we don’t let them erase her and our deep desires for what type of leadership we want. Hey, our wants, needs, and desires matter too, and we’re in this race to win it!
So, don’t come looking to persuade me to jump ship because there’s another candidate that a lot of people think is going to win the nomination. I’m perfectly fine on the Kamala cruise, thank you very much. Besides, Obama was down in the polls early on in his initial run and not considered a top tier candidate. But, look at what happened when he and his supporters persisted. He won, right?
Yeah, so don’t let others discourage you from supporting Kamala. Nobody has the nomination wrapped up yet. Not Liz, Biden or Bernie. Things can change quickly, so be ready to ride the next Kamala surge to higher heights.
I support Kamala as the next President of the United States of America!
Are you with me?
She’s not running for Ag (and refused that position already when Obama offered it) so people who support other candidates should stop trying to hand us that consolation prize that she doesn’t even want. Yes, she’s tough, and I want her tough prosecutor side in the Oval, thank you very much. Cleaning up this GOP mess is going to take a certain kind of toughness, and she’s got that. Know why?
Because she’s had to continuously fight through this erasure and marginalization mess before and has come out on top. Yes, she’s a winner. We see her heading out to the political battlefield every day to fight for us.
She’s not running for VP either, so if you’re supporting her for that, just know that it’s a pipe dream.
If you’re all in for Kamala, then the only position we want to hire her for is President. That’s the job she’s applying for and her resume, and on-the-job achievements, are strong enough to qualify her to serve as our chief domestic executive and Commander in Chief.
Yeah! I said it and I believe it too.
So, if you also believe that Kamala Harris is the most qualified person (male or female) that we have right now, and in 2020, for the Presidency of our beloved country, be prepared to fight for her every inch of the way — all the way to the 2020 Democratic Convention. There are lots of roadblocks being tossed in her path, and we just have to fight through them like superheroes.
Kamala doesn’t get to enjoy the historically privileged position that the other top candidates enjoy. You know what I’m talking about.
So, this is going to be a really tough battle to help her be seen as the best candidate to lead this nation back to greatness. I’m a black woman, and so I know what I’m talking about. Trust black women. We see. We feel. We know.
If we all stick together and become joyful warriors like Kamala, we can be movers and shakers just as much as anyone else. We have to do this together and do it in a POSITIVE way (no low-blow dissing other candidates — but respectful vetting is okay).
Kamala is showing us that she’s a bright, happy, inclusive, helpful spirit, and as long as we too strive to promote the positive reasons why others should commit their vote to her, Kamala’s positive traits and genuine achievements are going to naturally win more supporters.
Polls don’t tell the whole story of support (or potential support), so don’t put too much stock in them right now. Instead, focus on why she’s the best choice for 2020.
We know she’s the One. So, hang in there.
Let’s all give everything we’ve got to support her candidacy because she needs us to fight with her in order to get past all of this erasure nonsense.

And, most of all, continue being a Joyful Warrior for the best candidate to defeat Trump and his despicable, unGodly, racist, misogynistic, bullying, greedy and all-around awful cult of followers and opportunists.
By the way, Kamala’s smackdown of Don Jr. on Twitter continues getting likes and retweets. It currently has over 100 thousand retweets and 530+ thousand likes and counting. This is by far, the best and biggest political clap-back tweet of the year (so far). Yeah, so don’t try to tell me she doesn’t have what it takes to fight hard against Trump, his son or anyone from Trump’s inner circle.
Fun Fact: Donald Trump and Ivanka donated to help Kamala Harris win
Let’s not let mass media and others get away with the narrative that the woman professor/senator is more qualified to take the fight directly to Trump than the woman prosecutor/senator. It’s B.S. and we know it. While both of these female candidates are good at fighting, I believe that Kamala Harris is the better fighter on many more issues. I’m sure that I’m not alone in this belief.
To Kamala (and her great team)
I want you to know there are millions of us out here cheering you on and supporting you as a top tier candidate.
We’ve got you, so keep on keeping on, sister. You have a unique way of inspiring and empowering people, and that is truly a gift.
