I wonder what this “insurance” might be. More evidence of more Trump crimes? Has Giuliani learned from Michael Cohen, and been wearing a wire, like any Trump lawyer with any instinct for self-preservation should? Lordy, are there tapes? From the Guardian:
Giuliani joked that he had good “insurance” in case Trump did turn on him, amid speculation Republicans will seek to frame him as a rogue actor.
In a telephone interview with the Guardian, in response to a question about whether he was nervous that Trump might “throw him under a bus” in the impeachment crisis, Giuliani said, with a slight laugh: “I’m not, but I do have very, very good insurance, so if he does, all my hospital bills will be paid.”
Giuliani’s lawyer, Robert Costello, who was also on the call, then interjected: “He’s joking.”
Whether it was a joke or a veiled threat, Giuliani has emerged as a key player in the impeachment proceedings, which center on the question of whether Trump sought to pressure the Ukrainian government to investigate his political rival, Joe Biden.
You know you’re in trouble when your lawyer needs his own lawyer to tell reporters that his veiled threat is a “joke.” I hope Giuliani gets to use his “insurance.” I don’t mind if it’s used in a lawsuit that causes Trump to be ordered to pay Giuliani’s hospital bills, as long as it provides more evidence of Trump’s crimes. Of course Trump won’t pay his bills even if the court orders it, but maybe Medicare for All will, LOL!
