I don’t have any profound insights on women and Thanksgiving, other than to push the men to clean up after the meal (since I do all the cooking, which I like). I did notice this year that the TV went off after the dog show; the men in my family have decided that they don’t enjoy football like they used to, now that they know about chronic traumatic encephalopathy. That made it a lot easier to get them involved. Long may the bloom fall off the football rose!
Progressive Women’s Leadership listed several things to be thankful for. Do you agree? I think they were a little leader-heavy and a little average-person-light. What do you think?
I am thankful that about half my doctors are women. They seem to listen better.
I am thankful that I have had mostly female bosses; apparently I have avoided a whole lot of harassment episodes that way.
I am thankful for climate activists like Greta Thunberg, Daisy Jeffrey, Elana Azrai, and Folashade Gbadeola; and gun-restriction activists like Emma Gonzalez and Jaclyn Corin.
Who are you thankful for?
People often think about making end-of-year donations to charitable causes, be it in honor of the holidays or for tax purposes. Please click on the link to Mental Floss to explore some noted women’s groups, https://www.mentalfloss.com/...

violence
November 25 was the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women: https://www.un.org/…
"Sexual violence against women and girls is rooted in centuries of male domination. Let us not forget that the gender inequalities that fuel rape culture are essentially a question of power imbalances." — UN Secretary-General António Guterres
There were demonstrations all around the world, in honor of the day:

Lots of photos of the day: https://www.usatoday.com/...
And here's an article about a particular one of these events: "Tel Aviv municipality displays clothes of women murdered by spouses": https://www.jpost.com/…

There is a connection between missing and murdered indigenous women and the route of the Keystone Pipeline. It's not surprising as there is always serious violence against indigenous women when camps for oil workers or loggers or such are near reservations, and if you look at the stats in the above graphic it seems the camps very often are.

Interesting study: False allegations of rape and domestic violence are few and far between https://www.theguardian.com/…
harassment
Three women report sexual harassment by Gordon Sondland (why am I not surprised?) https://www.propublica.org/…
The first 6 and a half minutes of this Sam Bee show is about women animators fighting back together at workplace harassment:
abortion
Now Ohio legislators are pushing bill for medical impossibility:
https://www.dailykos.com/...
and want to charge doctors who don't perform this non-existent procedure with "abortion murder."
We’ll have to keep saying it until everyone gets it: You cannot reimplant an ectopic pregnancy in a woman’s uterus; only eggs implant, further along in development, they do not. The blood supply for the fetus is at the original site, it will not regrow elsewhere.
Art
She was arrested as a “suspicious person” for wearing men’s clothes and smoking! The horror! But follow the link to Twitter for an interesting thread — women still are told, over 100 years later, not to wear pants in some settings.
