NATO and impeachment and Thanksgiving and Advent and real fucking life.
I’m home and I’m not doing well and I am doing well.
I got frisked in airport security in two states. I cried the first time and seethed the second. I don’t like it when strangers feel me up just because they can. I said stuff like, “I hate this fucking country.”
Ate Chinese food in Harrison Arkansas before going with my dad and stepmom to Branson, Missouri to a place called Silver Dollar City to look at ridiculously spectacular Christmas lights and see a really well done production of A Christmas Carol. We hit a traffic jam. Seriously. Even in places with no population, there are traffic jams when it’s the first day of lights and fine productions of A Christmas Carol. While we were waiting in line to get in, my dad asked me how many people in the crowd I thought voted for Trump. I said 80%. He thought that was high. He was probably right, but not by much.
Ate soul food in a little restaurant in Atlanta with my mom Thanksgiving day at 1:00 in the afternoon. It’s the fifth year in a row she and I have eaten soul food in that restaurant at 1:00 in the afternoon on Thanksgiving day. It tasted good.
I love this fucking country.
Got less life ahead of me than I’ve got behind me. That’s weird.
I plucked two oranges from my backyard tree and gave them to my neighbor.
I don’t think the people on TV are talking about the right things, but I think they’re really trying to. In a way I feel sorry for them, and in a way I’m mad at them for not having it all figured out because it would be easier for me if they had it figured out.
I went to church Sunday and the preacher told the story of Passover. He said things get tricky when we find that instead of being one or the other, sometimes we’re having the slave experience and other times we’re having the pharaoh experience.
I had to google how to spell pharaoh. That’s a hard one.

I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. I did. Lots more to give thanks for than not, but damn there’s a lot to not. I give thanks for all of you.
