Sometimes opportunity arises out of strange circumstances.
Talking Points Memo has posted a story confirming that Devin Nunes has made good on a promise to sue CNN for defamation of character based on stories related to his association with Lev Parnas:
talkingpointsmemo.com/…
The suit revolves around CNN publishing false information related to a Nunes/Parnas bromance. We could go down the rabbit hole of whether there’s any chance Nunes was or was not in Vienna, knew Parnas, etc, etc, but the key point in the whole matter is that Nunes if suing for defamation of character.
Clause 38 reads:
38. CNN’s false statements constitute defamation per se. The statements
accuse and impute to Plaintiff the commission of felonies and crimes involving moral
turpitude and for which Plaintiff may be punished and imprisoned in a state or federal
institution.
And herein lies the opportunity.
Devin Nunes is suing CNN for acting in the very ways he’s spent weeks defending as perfectly reasonable and completely lawful behavior.
The press should be asking the Nunes camp at every opportunity possible if Nunes has changed his mind and now believes that running around Europe asking foreigners to investigate Hunter Biden is in fact unlawful as his new suit contends.
