Pelosi led us here to this important distinction.
Jackass Portion— Trump is a Coward, Cruel, & in Denial
I think the President is a coward when it comes to helping our kids who are afraid of gun violence. I think he is cruel when he doesn't deal with helping our Dreamers, of which we are very proud. I think he's in denial about the – about the climate crisis. However, that's about the election. This is about the election – take it up in the election.
Criminal portion— Trump is a criminal violating the Constitution
[The impeachment inquiry] is about the Constitution of the United States and the facts that lead to the President's violation of his oath of office.
Don’t Mess with Nancy Portion
And as a Catholic, I resent your using the word hate in a sentence that addresses me. I don't hate anyone. I was raised in a way that is full of, a heart full of love and always pray for the President. And I still pray for the President. I pray for the President all the time. So, don't mess with me when it comes to words like that. www.speaker.gov/...
Yes, Trump is a cruel idiot & destructive ass
So was W
I never tried to have W impeached though he was a heartless moron who started a pointless war.
- Other morons have been president in the past. No doubt more morons will be president in the future.
- Other presidents have started pointless wars and lied about them. Sadly, I’m sure this will continue in the future, too.
W did game our electoral system, with help from Rove, the Supreme Court, and the Electoral college. But he did not need or request help from Russia, China, Ukraine or any other foreign country.
Being a pure bred ass VS being a constitutional criminal is an important difference.
We were revolted by Trump’s obvious sexism, racism, stupidity, and greed, and
announced with our pussy-hatted marches that we would oppose his policies at every turn. And we did.
We flooded our Reps and Senators with calls, emails, and visits so that they had no doubt where we stood on issues. ON ISSUES.
We organized our tails off to create a Blue Wave of voters in the 2018 elections. IN THE 2018 ELECTIONS.
No Coup. No over-turning of elections. Everything legal and above board.
The concept of impeachment became serious as the information about the depth of 2016 Russian involvement and Trump campaign complicity became evident.
Through the Mueller investigations the blatancy of Trump’s criminality became obvious, but only to those who care about country over party.
It was complex report that buried the lede. We would have needed a presentation similar to the movie The Big Short to convey the great wrong that Trump did. The MSM again reported the prize fight aspect of the hearings, not the main ideas of Mueller’s report. Pelosi had no handle to pursue it further, so she focused legislating, protecting Dems in red districts, and on building toward 2020.
After the Mueller hearings, Trump felt he got away with his crimes of 2016.
A normal person would have thanked their lucky stars, promised to keep their nose clean, and walked on the straight and narrow.
Instead, Abby Normal Trump picked up the phone the next day to threaten, bribe, and extort Ukrainian President Zelensky in an effort to create a new lie, this time about Biden, to influence the 2020 election.
Rs want us to believe that if Trump did not use the words “if you want the $400,000 million dollars, you better make up dirt on Joe Biden and his son”, then nothing bad happened. Do they also believe that if someone shoots another person without uttering the words “And, now I will murder you”, then no crime has been committed there either?
We will impeach Trump for (some of) his crimes, not his political leanings or disgusting persona.
President Trump has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice, and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States," the resolution reads…
ARTICLE I: ABUSE OF POWER
...Using the powers of his high office, President Trump solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, in the 2020 United States Presidential election. He did so through a scheme or course of conduct that included soliciting the Government of Ukraine to publicly announce investigations that would benefit his reelection, harm the election prospects of a political opponent, and influence the 2020 United States Presidential election to his advantage. President Trump also sought to pressure the Government of Ukraine to take these steps by conditioning official United States Government acts of significant value to Ukraine on its public announcement of the investigations. President Trump engaged in this scheme or course of conduct for corrupt purposes in pursuit of personal political benefit. In so doing, President Trump used the powers of the Presidency in a manner that compromised the national security of the United States and undermined the integrity of the United States democratic process. He thus ignored and injured the interests of the Nation…
ARTICLE II: OBSTRUCTION OF CONGRESS
...Through these actions, President Trump sought to arrogate to himself the right to determine the propriety, scope, and nature of an impeachment inquiry into his own conduct, as well as the unilateral prerogative to deny any and all information to the House of Representatives in the exercise of its "sole Power of Impeachment". In the history of the Republic, no President has ever ordered the complete defiance of an impeachment inquiry or sought to obstruct and impede so comprehensively the ability of the House of Representatives to investigate "high Crimes and Misdemeanors". This abuse of office served to cover up the President's own repeated misconduct and to seize and control the power of impeachment—and thus to nullify a vital constitutional safeguard vested solely in the House of Representatives.…
Wherefore, President Trump, by such conduct, has demonstrated that he will remain a threat to the Constitution if allowed to remain in office, and has acted in a manner grossly incompatible with self-governance and the rule of law. President Trump thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust, or profit under the United States. www.npr.org/...
