Just a short diary, but its worth noting, on Civiqs, as well as 538s aggregation, there has been a sharp and definite upward trend in Trumps approval lately.
This change in opinion appears in both cases to start around early November. I.e. the day public hearings started.
So not only did daily televised hearings of Trumps approval not sink Trump, but they actually appear to have helped him (presumably by allowing the GOP a chance to very publicly refute the charges and rally some soft support).
These moves aren't huge. But trump shaving 2.5% off his net disapproval in the heat of what was supposed to be the worst part of impeachment is a bad sign for what will happen when the heat is off.
We took our best shot and it didn't land. God help us in 11 months if the economy is still strong and all his scandal has just been normalized as just part of politics.
