“unprincipled in private life, desperate in his fortune, bold in his temper, possessed of considerable talents … despotic in his ordinary demeanour.” — Alexander Hamilton
Hamilton got it wrong, tRump is not possessed of considerable talent, he’s possessed of inconsiderate talent and racist talent and misogynistic talent. He’s also got some criminal talent. And if you go by quantity instead of quality, he’s a world class liar. But, Hamilton did call out tRump as bad news for America 228 years ago, so I’m giving him a pass on the talent prediction. Hamilton could not have predicted the ability of Faux Noise, FarceBook, SuckAir Media and IFartRadio to make golden toilets out of rotting, diseased discarded entrails.
Propaganda outlets masquerading as news providers and social media encouraging lies for profit are clearly cancers on the republic. You can add in the ingrown toenails caused by CT generators like InfoWars; chronic hemorrhoids from pain the in the ass commentary by bothsiderists; debilitating earaches from the Gym Jordanesque political shouters; shin splints resulting from all those kicking and screaming tRumpian tantrums; and the queasy feeling every time McConnell opens his beak. We end up with a body politic is serious need of medical attention. My prescription: push back and then push back some more. Winning back the republic takes work and we need to leverage our biggest advantage. We have the numbers and we have the enthusiasm.
There are also a lot of bad actors flapping their gums for no other reason than to generate more FUD — Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt — a disinformation strategy used in sales, marketing, public relations, politics, cults, and propaganda. FUD is generally a strategy to influence perception by disseminating negative and dubious or false information and a manifestation of the appeal to fear. (definition from Wikipedia).
Take John Neely Kennedy, a Rhodes Scholar, who effects a corn pone persona to hide his education and cater to the Bubba vote. Kennedy recently spent time spouting the fully bogus, pure nonsense of the debunked Crowdstrike Ukraine conspiracy theory to anyone he could get to listen to his fantasies. He knew he was lying, but did it anyway, just to give cover to that burst brain blister occupying the big white house down the block.
Then there’s that paragon on inconsistency, Lindsey Graham. I think the debate between 1998 pro-impeachment Lindsey and 2019 tRump-lickspittle Lindsey would be more entertaining if they had to go at in a cage match. I think Lindsey the former would kick Lindsey the current all over the cage. The years have not been kind to Mr. Graham (it’s probably stress from all the kompromat). In the run up to the 2016 election Graham was more critical of tRump than either Peter Strzok or Lisa Page. I wonder if he’s going to call for his own resignation? In 2015 he said of tRump, "He's a race-baiting, xenophobic, religious bigot, He doesn't represent my party. He doesn't represents the values that the men and women who wear the uniform are fighting for. ... He's the ISIL man of the year." In 2016 he said tRump is “a kook. I think he’s crazy. I think he’s unfit to be president.” He also said, “Donald Trump gets his foreign policy from watching television - the Cartoon Network” I think Lindsey was being generous there, tRump gets his foreign policy directly from Vladimir Putin.
