Politics aside, each of us is confronted with a unique dilemma . . . a narcissist occupies the White House and, unless the president cuts a deal to resign, with or without a Pence pardon, we have to figure out how to get along with Trump at least until January 2021.
We have to understand that Donald Trump’s primary goal in life is not to serve democracy or protect America or improve quality of life for others . . . his main goal in life to boost his flagging sense of self-esteem.
Don’t believe it?
Well, the next time you hear Trump lying through his teeth to cheering rally goers, reporters, sycophants, and anyone else who knows that he’s lying; you might want to remind yourself that you’re listening to the pathetic bluster of an insecure old man who desperately doubts his self-worth.
Don’t believe it?
Why do you think Donald continually insists that he is perfect, omnipotent, and unique?
Moreover, why do you think Trump is so quick to point out that anyone who is different or dares to disagree with him is not only wrong but is abjectly inferior?
Why do you think Trump attempts to distract from his fatness by calling actress Rosie O’Donnell a ‘fat pig’ or by criticizing Jennifer Lopez for having a fat rump or by fat-shaming Melania by telling a reporter after their son was born, “She’s lost almost all the baby weight”?
We also have to understand that Donald Trump is incapable of emotional empathy.
Don’t believe it?
Why do you think he has never expressed remorse for having stiffed contractors or for having defrauded thousands of Trump University students?
Why do you think Trump has never apologized for ripping babies from the arms of their mothers?
Why do you think Trump has never expressed regret for having dumped trillions of dollars of debt on the backs of this and future generations of Americans?
We have to accept the fact that Trump fiercely protects his sense of low self-esteem by denying truths that are obvious to everyone but him.
Don’t believe it?
How do you think Trump would respond if a correspondent dared to tell him to his face that his father was not born in Germany?
What would Trump say if a reporter looked him in the eye and told him that his claimed national emergency on the border is a nothing but a lie designed to appeal to the fears of his base?
What would Donald say if an interviewer asked him to deny that he threatened schools with lawsuits if they revealed his grades to hide the truth that he isn’t the genius he claims to be?
How would Trump reply if a questioner challenged him to explain how he lost more than a billion dollars if he isn’t an incompetent businessman?
Do you think Donald Trump would answer those questions truthfully, or would he attempt to protect his self-esteem by responding with accusations, criticisms, denials, and insults?
After all is said and done, who doesn’t know that since Donald cares only about the image he’s created to prop up his self-esteem, the only way to get along with Trump is to wait until . . . ?
Isn’t it?
