As I sit here in Wisconsin and consider last month’s testimony of Ambassador Sondland and Ambassador Yavonavich and others who have testified under oath about President Trump’s interest in the pervasive corruption in the Ukraine, one question remains unasked and unanswered:
“With over 330,000* companies currently operating in the Ukraine and with President Trump and Mick Mulvaney and Mike Pompeo and his other associates stating publicly that he was working to ferret out the pervasive corruption present in Ukraine, aside from Burisima, which other companies did President Trump and/or Rudy Giuliani instruct President Zelensky to investigate?”
The answer? None.
Not a single company was targeted other than the one tied to his main political rival. The answer is damning, it inescapably proves Trump’s intent to withhold aid to a political favor and to illegally accept something of value to only him (aka a “bribe”).
Have I missed this question being asked?
If Trump had genuinely been interested in the corruption issue as he stated publicly (and there is likely pervasive corruption there as there is in many developing and developed nations), why only target Burisima? The answer is clear: he was solely interested in investigating Biden and the excuse about targeting corruption was yet another lie.
But this lie proves a key element in the commission of a crime: criminal intent. And with the Government Accountability Office stating publicly this week that the withholding of Congressionally-mandated aid was illegal (meaning a crime actually occurred), the only issue left to prove is that Trump’s actions led to the crime. They did.
Case closed.
