Over 17 years ago my wife and I decided 1 cat wasn’t enough. So we went to find another one. We ended up at a foster parent’s home in a room with about a dozen kittens. MY wife sat on the floor and made sure to pick up each one to make sure she found the right one. After a while she realized that it was the same orange kitten that kept getting on her legs and playing with her hair. At the point we knew we had been adopted. We took Miles home so he could annoy our older cat, Marvin, in that special way kittens can annoy others. He hadn’t been fixed yet so after a couple weeks we brought him in for that. The next day the people working at the clinic fought over who got to go get him, they all loved the little guy. Over the years he was pretty much a real jerk to any animal that came after him but was all loving towards people. He was my wives kitty cat soulmate. A few years ago he developed kidney issues and last summer they found a good sized tumor. Because of the cancer we knew his time was short so we did the best we could for him. This week it was obvious that it was time for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge and begin the next part of his journey. He went very peacefully and even though it was extremely hard to do, we know we made the right decision. Our 2 cants ended up becoming 8 cats and 2 dogs so we have plenty of critters willing to snuggle up and help us through this time. Good bye Miles, you will be missed and never forgotten. Thank you for the 17 years of joy that you brought to our lives.
