Senator Blackburn:
I’m so glad to find common areas of agreement with you.
One is that Senators with preconceived notions should recuse themselves from the impeachment trial. So I’m certain that you will ask Mitch McConnell (“total coordination with the White House counsel”), Lindsey Graham (“end this crap as quickly as possible”), Tom Cotton (“sham impeachment”), Steve Daines (“time for the Senate to end this partisan impeachment sham”, Rand Paul (“partisan abuse of power”), Josh Hawley (“is this a joke?”) to step aside as they have fully committed to be biased in their votes. (Note this is just a partial list.)
The second area of agreement refers to your tweet saying that Russia is our enemy. I’m so glad that you recognize this, as Russia is attempting once again to interfere in our elections. I’m positive that you will stand with our intelligence agencies who have stated with no equivocation that it was Russia that was and is the culprit and that you will back the Senate Intelligence report that found extensive Russian interference.
It must have disturbed you greatly when Donald Trump stood next to Putin at the Helsinki summit and sided with the enemy over our own intelligence agencies. And it must be quite distressing to you to learn that Trump’s outstanding business loans issued by Deutsche Bank were guaranteed by the Russian state-owned VTB Bank, putting national security issues in jeopardy because of the potential clout afforded to Putin and his comrades.
So, if you can tear yourself away from your book and your phone, I’m sure that you will do the right thing and pay close attention to the sounds of our democracy cracking at the seams.
