Okay guys, I’m new to Daily Kos and I have no idea what I’m doing. The PWB peeps are trying to train me, but that process is just getting started. I certainly hasn’t taken hold yet.
A bit of trivia, I was Warren’ s Cedar county chair in 2016. For about 18 hours, until she dropped out of the race. Broke my heart, it did.
But… Right now I find myself at a Warren rally in Davenport, Iowa at and thought I’d share.
It’s a half an hour to show time and standing room only. Of course, since we were told to get here over an hour early, that’s probably to be expected.
I’m ADA qualified, so I got a seat right up front. It is the only benefit I’ve ever received from these wonky knees.
There are all sorts of eager, young volunteers wandering around. The press people are crawling over the place. The New York Times just interviewed the couple behind me.
I talked to some staffer expressing my desire to talk to the policy person for the student debt relief plan. The staffer gave me his e-mail address, but I’m not expecting much.
We voters in Iowa are certainly having our 15 minutes of fame. Come February 4th, we’ll crawl back into our hibernation holes and wait out the Iowa winter.
It’s T-15 and not much is happening.
After you discount the volunteers and the press, this rally is not nearly as well attended as I expected. I’m guessing that we had about half this many people a Warren rally in little ole Tipton, Iowa, some months ago.
T-0 and nothing.
T+08. The show has started. We’re currently having a raffle for the right to ask Warren. Of course, they never gave me an entry ticket when I signed in.
The field worker is warming up the crowd.
The Illinois State Treasurer is now warming up the crowd. They couldn’t find anybody from Iowa?
Some local pol is now warming up the crowd.
She is here.
Yes, I’m giving Bailey top billing.
I have no idea how to do live blogging. So, I’ll meet you in the comments.
Thanks,
