The older I get, the more I’ve been subjected to our “liberal media”, the more I am COMPLETELY in agreement with Noam Chomsky’s assessment of “Manufactured Consent”. I just witnessed Chris Matthews and Joe Scarborough, giggling like the town gossip mongers, banter about “who would stop their car to come to your aid”.. Matthews stated he couldn’t see Bernie doing so, but Biden, in his assessment, would hands down do so in voter’s minds..

I absolutely believe that Joe Biden would rush to someone’s aid. I’ve generally found him to be genuinely well intentioned. But, for these two talking heads to publicly impugn Bernie’s character in this manner, it is reprehensible. Manufactured Consent indeed..
It brings to mind a few other media generated moments. “Gore is a bore”, the “Dean scream”, “Who would you rather have a beer with”, “successful billionaire and businessman Trump”, ad nauseum.. I’ve grown weary of decades of swatting down these mental memes, mental viruses. Weary of trying to disabuse people of these simple minded, transparent talking points issued by multi-millionaire talking heads. The most mind boggling aspect of it is that it spreads like fire. A malicious offhand remark becomes “reality” for far too many, far too quickly. And this from a media outlet that is scorned by, and avoided like the plague by millions of gullible “consumers” of toxic right wing propaganda outlets.
Every generation throughout recorded history repeats this cycle. We as a species never seem to learn. The Worm Ouroboros meets Ozymandias meets the allegory of the cave..
